Each clutch from the Tesserae Nocturne collection is a study in ancestral craftsmanship and sculptural beauty. Created through the centuries-old art of marquetry—perfected by indigenous artisans in Brazil—this piece is constructed from sustainably sourced wood veneers gathered from forest fall or reclaimed furniture remnants.

Using a time-honored process, the woods are naturally color-treated through soaking and sun-drying, allowing their tonal richness to emerge without dyes or pigments. Veneers of Muirapiranga (red), Tatajuba (yellow), Louro Abacate (green), Roxinho (purple), and Azul Carvalho (blue) are cut by hand into intricate motifs, then laid like tesserae—mosaic fragments of a wild, living forest—onto the clutch’s sculpted form.

Each pattern is stenciled, precision-cut, and assembled entirely by hand before being sealed and finished into a polished object of art. The result is a poetic synthesis of ancient technique and contemporary silhouette, carrying the silent knowledge of the forest and the hands that shaped it.
